The Great Commission of Christ reads like this in the New English Version of the Bible.
So the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated. When they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted. Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Much about these words has intrigued us over the years. We draw hope, power and urgency for our mission from these words. We also receive direction from these words. Our mission is the same as the mission was for the first disciples. We are all called to Go, Make Disciples, Baptize, and Teach. That last part, teaching all he has commanded us, is what we will focus on over the next several posts.
If you find these recorded discussions helpful to you would you please share them with someone else? Your voice added to ours would be much appreciated.
