Testimony Tuesday: Peace

“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”

-Psalm 29:11

One quiet morning a couple weeks ago, the Lord spoke to me. In the stillness of the new day, He warned me that something was going to happen, but I did not need to worry, it was going to be ok. Immediately my mind went to my husband,Timothy, who is currently in the states. Then my thoughts shifted to my children, is one of them going to get hurt? In that moment our loving Father offered his peace.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thansgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

-Philippians 4:6-7

About a week later in the middle of the night, I received a message from my sister. The message read, Ricky has been in a car accident, please pray. That was the only news we had at the time. Immediately I began praying and God’s peace just covered me. I knew at that moment this is what he had prepared me for. While we were waiting to hear more, Ricky had an MRI exam. And my family was waiting to hear the results from the Dr. When I spoke with my sister she explained that Ricky had a seizure which caused the accident and once he arrived at the hospital he had another seizure. She also mentioned that he had no injuries from the accident, we were thankful to hear that. The Dr finally spoke to my family and explained the huge tumor that my brother had. He said that it was most likely not cancerous and that they could do the surgery the next day. The surgery was successful and my brother was recovering well. A day after the surgery he was up walking around and talking. We are so grateful to all of our friends, family, and brothers and sisters around the world that were praying for him. We know that God heard all the prayers and answered them.

During this time several people asked me how I was doing with this whole situation. So I wanted to share with you about our loving Father, who wrapped his peace around me during this time. In his lovingkindness he prepared me for what was coming and through it I had great peace. It is difficult to live far from family at times like this. And Yes I would have wanted to be by my brothers side but I know that God was there with him and that he was surrounded by my family also. The awesome thing is that this was not the first time that God had prepared me in this way. Twice before God did the same when my mother had to have surgery and when my sister had to have surgery and both times I could not be there. I hope this story can be an encouragement to you.

God was so gracious to offer his peace to me, today he is offering it to you. Will you accept it? What ever difficult thing you are going through today, what every has your mind preoccupied with worry, he can walk beside you and share his peace with you. All you have to do is accept it.

This whole time of waiting God had covered me with his peace. I want you to experience His presence as well.

With love, 4A08129A-101B-442B-A79D-4049217965FEAngelita
