“A man not spiritually fitted ought not to go, but neither is he fit to stay.”

As Christians, we are called to be actively serving and living out our faith. We are told in Galatians 5:13 that it is our duty to “serve one another humbly in love”. Serving others is not just a suggestion for Christians, but a command. This means that we must be actively engaged in the work of the Lord, and not just sitting on the sidelines.

If we are not spiritually fit, then we cannot go out and serve in the Lord’s work. We must make sure that we are regularly attending church, reading our Bibles, and praying with other believers. When we neglect these spiritual disciplines, we are not in a position to be of any use to the Lord.

At the same time, if we are not spiritually fit, we are not fit to stay either. We cannot just remain idle and expect to be in a position to serve the Lord. We must continually strive to be spiritually fit so that we can be of use to God and His kingdom.

May we be found spiritually fit for service in the kingdom of God. May we be useful in the Lord’s work. May we put away our sin and embrace holy living. Let us diligently seek after the Lord and His ways, so that we can be truly prepared to serve Him.

Love, The Downing Family
