Food Campaign

Dear friends, we greet you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior in whom we have hope and peace.

We are raising funds to help feed people here in Ecuador. To help us in this Matthew 25 ministry click here!

We want you to be aware of the suffering of your brothers and sisters in Christ in Ecuador. The way that the politicians of Ecuador decided to deal with the Coronavirus is to lock down all of society. Every job is on hiatus unless it is deemed “essential” and most Ecuadorians are not prepared for a crisis of this magnitude. For the rich, this is an inconvenience but for the poor, this is a death sentence. We have been on total lockdown in Ecuador since March 15th. A majority of the poor which include most of our pastors and church brethren work one day so they may eat the next.

We have spoken with our church leaders and they have reported grim news. Not only are most of them out of food but many of the families in their churches are going hungry. We are blessed to have food so we took some of our food to several of the pastors who live in Quito. We know that some of them took the food their family needed and divided it among families in their church.

We invite you to join us in our effort to make sure our brethren have food. We need funding for our effort. We are fans of the words of C.S. Lewis “I do not believe one can settle how much we ought to give. I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more than we can spare. In other words, if our expenditure on comforts, luxuries, amusements, etc, is up to the standard common among those with the same income as our own, we are probably giving away too little. If our charities do not at all pinch or hamper us, I should say they are too small. There ought to be things we should like to do and cannot do because our charitable expenditure excludes them.” This has been our personal approach. Will you join us so that the body of Christ can meet the needs of its members?
