“Let your heart and mind be ever anchored in this truth: Jesus Christ, born of David’s royal lineage, has risen triumphantly from the depths of death. This is the cornerstone of the Gospel I proclaim.”
2 Timothy 2:8
Verse 1:
Remember Christ, O faithful soul,
The Lord, from David’s royal line,
Who rose triumphant from the grave,
Our hope eternal and divine.
Chorus:
This is the Gospel, pure and true,
Christ risen, death’s dark bonds are riven,
Our song of praise shall e’er renew,
For He has conquered, Christ is risen!
Verse 2:
From Heaven’s throne to Calvary’s hill,
He came to bear our sin and shame,
Yet death could not His power still,
Now ever lives His holy name.
(Chorus)
Verse 3:
O let this truth your heart ignite,
And fan the flames of faith within,
Christ Jesus lives, our guiding light,
Who saves us from the grip of sin.
(Chorus)
Verse 4:
When trials come and sorrows press,
Remember Christ, our living Lord,
His resurrection brings us rest,
Our rock of hope, our sweet reward.
(Chorus)
Bridge:
From age to age, this truth proclaim,
Let every tongue His praise express,
For Jesus Christ is still the same,
Our cornerstone of righteousness.
Final Chorus:
This is the Gospel, pure and true,
Christ risen, death’s dark bonds are riven,
Our song of praise shall e’er renew,
For He has conquered, Christ is risen!
Amen.
Friends, Timothy is experimenting with hymn writing. But he has no musical bone in his body so if you are musically inclined feel free to write a score. We would love hear it.
