Exaltation

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”

Colossians 3:1

In the hallowed chambers of eternity,
Where light unending dwells,
We, the redeemed, stand in awe.
For we have been raised with Christ,
Our mortal frames touched by immortality,
Our earthly vessels infused with heavenly purpose.

Oh, what a mystery this high calling!
Once dead in trespasses and sins,
Now alive in Him who conquered the grave.
Can mortal tongues express this wonder?
Can finite minds grasp this truth?
We are seated with Him in heavenly places,
Our destinies forever intertwined with the Divine.

Let us then, beloved, lift our gaze,
Above the transient shadows of this world,
Beyond the fleeting pleasures that entice.
Set your hearts, your minds, your very souls
On things above, where Christ is.
For what is seen is temporary,
But what is unseen is eternal.

Seek ye first the Kingdom,
And its righteousness shall be your crown.
Let your thoughts dwell on that which is true,
Noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable.
For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
Transform your minds, dear pilgrims,
And be not conformed to this world.

Behold the Lamb upon the throne,
Seated at the right hand of God.
What majesty, what power, what authority!
He who humbled Himself unto death,
Now exalted above every name.
At His name, every knee shall bow,
In heaven and on earth and under the earth.

From this position of supreme dominion,
He intercedes for us, His beloved.
Who then can be against us?
What principality or power can prevail?
For if God be for us, who can stand opposed?
In all these things, we are more than conquerors,
Through Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.

Therefore, let us press on toward the goal,
To win the prize for which God has called us heavenward.
Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
For our citizenship is in heaven,
And we eagerly await a Savior from there.

Oh, what glorious hope we have!
What unfathomable love has been lavished upon us,
That we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are.
Let this truth ignite our hearts with holy passion,
Let it fuel our steps on this pilgrim path,
Until at last we see Him face to face.

For now we see but a poor reflection,
As in a mirror dimly lit.
But then we shall see in full glory,
Known as we are fully known.
Until that day, let us set our hearts on things above,
Where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God,
Our eternal home, our blessed assurance, our glorious inheritance.
