In the garden, dawn’s first light
Breaks the bondage of death’s night
The stone is rolled, the tomb stands bare
Our risen Lord no longer there
O death, where is thy victory?
O grave, where is thy sting?
For Christ has conquered, set us free
Eternal life, His gift to bring
Prophets old and Scriptures true
Foretold this day of hope anew
The Psalmist sang of God’s own Son
Who’d not see decay when life was done
In Luke we read Christ’s own decree
Of death and rising, prophecy
Now fulfilled before our eyes
The Messiah, Victor, did arise
Upon this Rock our faith now stands
The empty tomb in distant lands
Proclaims the truth of all He taught
Divine authority dearly bought
Without this resurrection morn
Our faith would be a hope forlorn
But Christ is risen, as He said
The Cornerstone, our living Head
In His rising, we too shall rise
First fruits of harvest for the skies
Assured of our salvation’s plan
Secured by nail-scarred, loving hands
In waters of baptism, we die
With Christ, and then to life draw nigh
United in His resurrection
We walk in newness, His reflection
The Spirit’s power, a rushing wind
Fills believers, their hearts to tend
Christ’s breath, a holy inspiration
Empowers for life’s transformation
No longer bound by fear or doubt
With Spirit’s fire, we step out
To carry on our Savior’s mission
His love, our strength and ammunition
The serpent’s head is crushed at last
The power of darkness now has passed
At Calvary, the victory won
By resurrection, fully done
The chains of sin no longer bind
The captives free, new life to find
For Christ has triumphed o’er the grave
And proven mighty now to save
From trembling lips to boldest speech
The Gospel’s power now to reach
The ends of earth with joyous sound
“He’s risen!” let the news resound
The Church, Christ’s body, now stands tall
A witness to His love for all
United by His Spirit’s might
We shine as beacons in the night
Behold, He makes all things anew
Creation’s song begins anew
No longer bound by sin’s decay
We walk with Him in light of day
Old things have passed, the new has come
In Christ, we’re more than conquerors, won
To live as citizens of heaven
While here on earth, His glory given
This mortal frame shall put on glory
When Christ returns to end earth’s story
These bodies sown in weakness here
Shall rise in power, no more to fear
For as He rose, so shall we rise
To meet our Savior in the skies
Transformed, renewed, forever blessed
In His presence, eternal rest
O wondrous love, O grace divine
That caused the Light in darkness shine
The Father’s heart for sinners shown
In Christ’s dear blood, for sin atoned
Now risen, glorified, enthroned
His sacrifice by God now owned
Let all creation joyful sing
Of Christ, our risen Lord and King!
