In the fullness of time, when the Lord’s plan unfolds,
The sun shall no longer be your light by day,
Nor the brightness of the moon shine upon you by night.
For the Lord will be your everlasting light,
And your God will be your glory.
The days of your mourning shall be ended,
As the New Jerusalem descends from heaven,
Adorned as a bride for her husband.
The city shall have no need of the sun or the moon,
For the glory of God shall illumine it,
And the Lamb shall be its lamp.
Yet before that glorious day, the stars will fall from heaven,
The powers of the heavens will be shaken,
And the Son of Man will appear in the sky,
Coming on the clouds with power and great glory.
He will send his angels with a loud trumpet call,
Gathering his elect from the four winds.
The sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,
The stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
The day of the Lord will come, cruel with wrath and fierce anger,
To make the earth a desolation and to destroy its sinners.
But for those who revere the name of the Lord,
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in its wings.
You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall,
Treading down the wicked like ashes under your feet.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but the Lord’s words will never pass away.
There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars,
Nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves.
People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming upon the world.
Yet in that hour, look up and lift up your heads,
For your redemption draws near.
Stand firm in the faith, knowing that the Lord is at hand.
He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,
And He will wipe away every tear from your eyes.
