Devotion 2: Strength for Reque’s Children

Beloved in Christ, let us draw near to the wellspring of divine grace, finding solace in the words of the Apostle Paul: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). In this sacred truth, we discover the essence of our ministry to the precious children of Reque.

As we gaze upon the faces of these little ones, we see the toll of poverty and hardship etched upon their brows. Yet, amidst the shadows of affliction, the Roma Lee Courvisier School stands as a torch of hope, illuminating their path with the radiant light of Christ. It is here, in this hallowed place, that seeds of faith are sown, and tender hearts are nurtured in the admonition of the Lord.

Your ministry through Vacation Bible School and heartfelt encouragement to these students serves as a living testament to the power of God’s strength shining through human weakness. In moments when you feel inadequate – whether due to cultural barriers or limited construction skills – remember that it is in these very frailties that the all-sufficient grace of God is magnified.

Embrace your weakness as an opportunity for divine strength to be made manifest. Lean wholly upon the Lord, trusting that He will supply the grace needed to minister effectively to the children of Reque. In your insufficiency, His power is made perfect.

Let us unite our hearts in prayer: Heavenly Father, we come before You, humbly beseeching Your empowering grace as we embark on this sacred mission to teach and encourage the precious children of Reque. May Your strength be made perfect in our weakness, and may Your grace flow through us as we serve as conduits of Your love. Bless the Roma Lee Courvisier School, and may the seeds of faith sown in these young hearts bear fruit unto eternal life. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
