Devotion 8: Serving Reque’s Families

Dearly beloved, let us meditate on the words of our Savior, who taught us, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). In this profound truth, we find the very essence of our calling as followers of Christ, a sacred duty to serve those in need as if we were serving the Lord Himself.

The Roma Lee Courvisier School stands as a beacon of hope for the impoverished children of Reque, a tangible expression of God’s love and compassion. As you prepare to distribute food boxes to families in crisis, know that your acts of kindness are not merely charitable deeds, but a holy offering laid at the feet of our Redeemer.

As you enter each home and meet each family, look beyond the outward circumstances and see the face of Christ in their midst. In the eyes of the hungry child, see the One who said, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14). In the weary mother’s smile, see the gentle grace of our Savior. Let this perspective shape your every interaction, infusing each moment with the tender mercy and unconditional love of God.

Let us lift our hearts in prayer: O Lord Jesus, You who humbled Yourself to walk among the poor and the broken, grant us the eyes to see You in the faces of those we serve in Reque. Bless our food box outreach and the tireless efforts of the Roma Lee Courvisier School, that through these acts of love, Your name may be glorified and Your kingdom advanced. May the families in crisis find not only physical nourishment, but the eternal sustenance that comes from knowing You. We ask this in Your most precious name. Amen.
