Postscript: A Call to Steadfast Service

Beloved in Christ,

As we come to the close of this devotional journey, let us pause and reflect on the great calling that our Lord has placed upon our lives. In His infinite wisdom and boundless love, He has chosen us to be His hands and feet in the city of Reque, to serve the precious children and families at the Roma Lee Courvisier School for a short time.

Your acts of service—the construction projects, the Vacation Bible School lessons, the distribution of food boxes, the words of encouragement, and the faithful witness to the Gospel—are not mere temporal deeds. No, dear friends, they are seeds of eternal significance, planted in the fertile soil of young hearts and minds. These seeds will take root, grow, and bear fruit that will last not just for a lifetime, but for all eternity.

As you continue to labor in the vineyard of the Lord, remember to draw strength from the living waters of Scripture and the sustaining power of prayer. In moments of weariness or doubt, cling to the promises of our faithful God, who declared through the prophet Isaiah, “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11, ESV).

Trust, then, that your efforts in Reque are not in vain. The Lord of the Harvest will multiply your work, causing it to yield a bountiful crop of righteousness and redemption. Your acts of love and service will echo through the generations, as the children you have ministered to grow into men and women of God, who will, in turn, impact countless others for the Kingdom.

Let us conclude with a final prayer:

Almighty and Everlasting God, we humbly come before Your throne of grace, offering thanks and praise for the privilege of serving You at the Roma Lee Courvisier School. We ask that You would pour out Your blessing upon this kingdom work, empowering the children, families, and staff to know You in a deep and transformative way. May the construction projects, the Vacation Bible School, and the community outreach bring glory and honor to Your holy name. Grant us the strength, perseverance, and joy to continue planting seeds of faith, trusting in Your promise to bring forth an abundant harvest. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

  1. Thank you all for being God’s witness to the children. And community of Reque. I’m just sorry we couldn’t be there as work camps were our very life for over 35 years. Sorry that our age has kicked in and we are unable to lead work camps now. Just know our prayers and our thoughts are constantly with Perú – the RLC School and the community of Reque. God bless you all for serving in this way. Love 💕 to everyone.
