Farm Project Phase One

In a strategic move that reflects our family’s deep commitment to expanding our ministry and nurturing the spiritual growth of Ecuador’s Church of God community, we have embarked on an ambitious endeavor—the acquisition of a 7-hectare agricultural property near Quito. This parcel, which already features a modest residential structure equipped with essential utilities like water and electricity, presents a unique opportunity to create a dedicated space for spiritual formation and theological education.

As G.K. Chesterton once remarked, “The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried.” Our family’s vision for this farm project is rooted in a deep conviction that the Church must actively engage in the work of discipleship and community-building, even when faced with challenges. By transforming this property into a versatile venue capable of hosting regular camp meetings, conferences, retreats, and seminary events, we aim to provide a centralized hub that will significantly bolster our ability to serve and support the local church.

The farm’s ample acreage offers significant potential for expanding our ministry activities, allowing us to create a space that fosters spiritual growth, theological reflection, and community formation. Drawing from the rich intellectual tradition of thinkers like Alexis de Tocqueville and C.S. Lewis, we recognize that the health of the Church is inextricably linked to the vitality of its institutions and the depth of its commitment to discipleship. As such, this project represents a crucial step in our efforts to strengthen the foundations of faith in Ecuador and beyond.

Of course, undertaking a project of this scale requires careful planning and financial stewardship. We have negotiated a purchase agreement for the farm, with a total cost of $160,000, which we will be paying in installments over an agreed-upon period. While this represents a significant investment, we believe that the long-term impact of this project on the spiritual life of Ecuador’s Church of God community will be immeasurable.

As we embark on the initial phase of this project, which focuses on establishing the necessary infrastructure and facilities to host a range of spiritual and educational gatherings, we invite you to join us in prayer and support. Together, we can create a space that will serve as a beacon of hope, faith, and spiritual renewal for generations to come. In the words of the Psalmist, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts” (Psalm 145:4, ESV). May this farm project be a testament to God’s faithfulness and a means by which we can pass on the rich heritage of our faith to those who come after us.
