Short-term mission trips, like the one our church recently undertook to Perú, are a unique and transformative experience, not just for those who receive the Gospel message and practical aid, but also for those who courageously step out in faith to participate in and support these endeavors. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:4, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” This principle lies at the heart of mission work, as believers selflessly give of their time, resources, and talents to serve those in need.
The testimonies of two Ecuadorian sisters who joined us on this journey to Perú stand as powerful evidence of the profound impact such trips can have on the hearts and minds of those who embark upon them. Through their words, we catch a glimpse of the spiritual growth, cultural enrichment, and deepened sense of purpose that come from engaging in this vital work. Indeed, as Jesus declared in Matthew 25:40, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” By ministering to the students, the youth, and the lost in Perú, these sisters not only brought hope and healing to others but also encountered Christ himself in a life-altering way.
Thus, short-term mission trips serve as a catalyst for personal transformation and a powerful reminder of the global nature of the Body of Christ. As we continue to support and participate in these initiatives, let us do so with the conviction that, in blessing others, we ourselves will be blessed beyond measure.

As long as we have the opportunity to do good, let us do it, for your work will have eternal results. I thank God, my brother Timothy, Sister Susana and each and every one of our brothers from the United States and my brothers from Ecuador; it has been for me a blessing and a privilege to participate in this camp, I have been filled with great and wonderful experiences. Sister Natalia’s Reflection
God bless you, dear brothers and sisters.
Receive a cordial and affectionate greeting from the one who writes to you, Natalia Solano. May God keep you and guide you in every step you take. Through this writing, I would like to tell you about my experience in Peru and how I saw Jesus working in our lives.
I would like to begin by telling you how God was our driver during the entire trip. Before we embarked, together with my brothers and sisters in faith, we prayed a prayer in which I was able to place my fears and expectations in God’s hands. In that prayer, I felt calm and felt the assurance that we would be with and supported by our beloved God.
Once the trip began, we set out to live this experience and it left me with many lessons, wonderful memories that I will not forget and friendships that I will remember fondly.
One of the ways in which I saw Jesus was through the kindness and affection with which we treated each other especially among the brothers of different nationalities. I could also see the hand of God working in each life through the gifts and abilities that He has given us, everyone was always willing to help and collaborate in each of the activities that were presented.
I clearly felt that we worked as the body of Christ: each one of us are different and unique, but we were ONE in Christ Jesus, following the same objective: to follow the Lord’s command.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”
St. Matthew 28:19
Another wonderful way to see JESUS was through the smiles of the children. Seeing God’s love reflected in the happiness and energy of each one of them filled my heart.
I was also inspired by the hard work of the teachers. To know that, beyond being trained to teach certain subjects, their main focus was to plant in the children and teenagers the hope of salvation.
When Sister Maria shared with us the story of God’s work in Reque, I was able to understand more deeply what Romans 8:28 says:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
The road was not easy; she told us that there were many obstacles that stood in the way of the progress of the work. However, God, in His infinite mercy, kept them on their feet, and today many families can know our Savior, Jesus Christ. In every word that Sister Maria shared, I could appreciate and admire the greatness of God.
I pray that the Lord will continue to renew every mind, every strength and every feeling of our missionary brothers and sisters, so that this and many more works will be possible, for the glory and honor of our God.
I am very grateful to God for allowing me to be surrounded by people who love His work. May the presence of our wonderful God accompany us every day of our lives, strengthening our faith and guiding each of our steps in his perfect will.

Otras reflexiones sobre nuestro viaje misionero a Perú
Los viajes misioneros de corta duración, como el que nuestra iglesia emprendió recientemente a Perú, son una experiencia única y transformadora, no sólo para los que reciben el mensaje del Evangelio y ayuda práctica, sino también para los que valientemente dan un paso adelante en la fe para participar y apoyar estos esfuerzos. Como nos recuerda el Apóstol Pablo en Filipenses 2:4, “Que cada uno de vosotros mire no sólo por sus propios intereses, sino también por los intereses de los demás”. Este principio se encuentra en el corazón de la obra misionera, ya que los creyentes dan desinteresadamente su tiempo, recursos y talentos para servir a los necesitados.
Los testimonios de dos hermanas que nos acompañaron en este viaje a Perú son una prueba fehaciente del profundo impacto que estos viajes pueden tener en los corazones y las mentes de quienes los emprenden. A través de sus palabras, vislumbramos el crecimiento espiritual, el enriquecimiento cultural y la profundización del sentido de propósito que se derivan de la participación en esta labor vital. De hecho, como declaró Jesús en Mateo 25:40, “En verdad os digo que en cuanto lo hicisteis a uno de estos mis hermanos más pequeños, a mí lo hicisteis”. Al ministrar a los estudiantes, los jóvenes y los perdidos en Perú, estas hermanas no sólo trajeron esperanza y sanación a los demás, sino que también se encontraron con Cristo mismo de una manera que les cambió la vida.
Así, los viajes misioneros de corta duración sirven como catalizador para la transformación personal y como poderoso recordatorio de la naturaleza global del Cuerpo de Cristo. Mientras continuamos apoyando y participando en estas iniciativas, hagámoslo con la convicción de que, al bendecir a otros, nosotros mismos seremos bendecidos sin medida.

Dios bendiga a la comunidad de Reque y a todos los que trabajaron arduamente en la Escuela Roma Lee. Gracias a hna. Maria y su familia; gracias a los profesores y a todos los que hicieron posible este tiempo maravilloso, su alegre servicio en la Escuela Biblica vacacional, felicitaciones ustedes estan sembrando semillas que daran frutos eternos.
“asi que, hermanos mios amados, estad firmes y constantes, creciendo en la obra del Señor siempre, sabiendo que vuestro trabajo en el Señor no es en vano”.

Mientras tengamos la oportunidad de hacer lo bueno, hagámoslo, pues su labor tendrá resultados eternos. Doy gracias a Dios, a mi hno. Timoteo, a hna Susana y a todos y cada uno de nuestros hermanos de Estados Unidos y a mis hermanos de Ecuador; ha sido para mi una bendicion y un privilegio participar en este campamento, me he llenado de grandes y maravillosas experiencias. Reflexión de Sor Natalia
Dios les bendiga, queridos hermanos.
Reciban un cordial y afectuoso saludo de quien les escribe, Natalia Solano. Que Dios les guarde y les guíe en cada paso que den. Mediante este escrito, me gustaría contarles sobre mi experiencia en Perú y cómo vi a Jesús obrando en nuestras vidas.
Me gustaría iniciar contándoles cómo Dios fue nuestro conductor durante todo el viaje. Antes de embarcarnos, junto a mis hermanos en la fe, hicimos una oración en la que pude poner mis temores y expectativas en manos de Dios. En aquella oración, pude sentir calma y la seguridad de que estaríamos acompañados y respaldados por nuestro amado Dios.
Una vez embarcados, nos dispusimos a vivir esta experiencia que me deja muchas enseñanzas, recuerdos maravillosos que no olvidaré y amistades que recordaré con mucho cariño.
Una de las formas en que vi a Jesús fue a través de la amabilidad y el cariño con el que nos tratábamos entre hermanos de diferentes nacionalidades. También pude ver la mano de Dios obrando en cada vida a través de los dones y habilidades que Él nos ha dado, en todos siempre estuvo presente la buena voluntad de ayudar y colaborar en cada una de las actividades que se presentaban.
Sentí claramente que trabajamos como el cuerpo de Cristo: cada uno era diferente y único, pero éramos UNO en Cristo Jesús, siguiendo un mismo objetivo: seguir el mandato del Señor.
“Por tanto, id, y haced discípulos a todas las naciones…”

Otra de las formas maravillosas de ver a JESÚS fue a través de la sonrisa de los niños. Ver el amor de Dios reflejado en la felicidad y la energía de cada uno de ellos me llenó el corazón.
También me fue de inspiración el arduo trabajo de los docentes. Saber que, más allá de estar capacitados para impartir determinadas materias, tenían como principal enfoque plantar en los niños y adolescentes la esperanza de la salvación.
Cuando la hermana María nos compartió la historia de la obra de Dios en Reque, pude entender con mayor profundidad lo que dice Romanos 8:28:
“Y sabemos que a los que aman a Dios, todas las cosas les ayudan a bien, esto es, a los que conforme a su propósito son llamados.”
El camino no fue sencillo; nos contó que hubo muchos obstáculos que se interpusieron en el avance de la obra. Sin embargo, Dios, en su infinita misericordia, les mantuvo en pie, y hoy muchas familias pueden conocer a nuestro Salvador, Jesucristo. En cada palabra que compartía la hermana María, podía apreciar y admirar la grandeza de Dios.
Oro para que el Señor siga renovando cada mente, cada fuerza y cada sentir de nuestros hermanos misioneros, para que esta y muchas más obras sean posibles, para la gloria y honra de nuestro Dios.
Estoy muy agradecida con Dios por permitirme estar rodeada de personas que aman su obra. Que la presencia de nuestro maravilloso Dios nos acompañe todos los días de nuestras vidas, fortaleciendo nuestra fe y guiando cada uno de nuestros pasos en su perfecta voluntad.
